David A.J. O'Donovan, MD FRCSI, FRCSI (Plast)

A graduate of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland in 1991, David specialised in Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery working and training in Toronto, Miami and Liverpool.   He has a special interest in Cosmetic Surgery, Paediatric Plastic Surgery as well as Ear Reconstruction Surgery, Breast Surgery and Surgery of the skin.  Since 2004 he has been practicing as a consultant and holds posts in The Hermitage Medical Clinic, St James Hospital, Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital Crumlin as well as The Blackrock Clinic.   He performs cosmetic procedures mostly in either The Hermitage Medical Clinic or The Blackrock Clinic.  David has a Master’s Thesis (MD) based on research, looking at new ways to prevent facial deformities in children having cancer treatments.  He  has been a member of the national committee of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) responsible for the training of young plastic surgeons in Ireland for the last 10 years.  He is the author of multiple peer reviewed papers and articles on a wide variety of plastic surgery topics since he commenced his training in plastic surgery in 1994.  David is a member and past secretary of the Irish Association of Plastic Surgeons (IAPS)  and is presently the national secretary representing Ireland at the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (ISAPS).
